Microsoft Drops the Ultimate Edition in Windows 8

Microsoft is the largest software corporation in the world. Their products include the small navigators to the heavy platforms and productivity suites. Although all the products have a share in the growth of Microsoft, the products that really boosted Microsoft’s growth are Windows Platform series and Office Suite series. The name Windows precedes Microsoft all around the world, as it is the platform that bought colors to the user interface. Microsoft Windows platform is the first Graphical User Interface in the Computer industry. The latest release in the Windows platform series is the Windows 8 platform.
The new Windows 8 platform is the pride of the House of Microsoft. The new platform is totally different from the previous Windows platforms and all the more, it trumps all the platforms in performance and appearance. Normally when a platform is accentuated more on one attribute, Performance or Graphics, the other one is reduced. Performance and graphics has an inverse relationship. But Microsoft has somehow managed the keep the repelling attributes together (I think they are not using some sort of permanent magnet!). There are many Windows 8 support websites that gives details on the totally new stuff in Windows 8.

Editions
Microsoft Windows 8 platform is released in four editions mainly. The released editions are:
1. Windows 8 (x64 and x86 architecture)
2. Windows 8 Pro (x64 and x86 architecture)
3. Windows 8 RT (ARM architecture)
4. Windows 8 Enterprise (x64 and x86 architecture)
Windows 8 and Windows 8 pro are the retail editions of the new Windows 8 platform. Windows 8 RT is the edition for the Tablets or ARM devices. It will not be available in the retail market or online store. This edition will be available pre-installed on the OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) devices. The Enterprise version of Windows 8, Windows 8 Enterprise edition, is available for sale to businesses and enterprises, only in bulk.

Has They Dropped the other editions?
Yes. Microsoft has dropped the other editions. Windows 8 edition will be the equivalent of Windows 7 Home edition and the Windows 8 Pro edition is the equivalent of the Windows 7 professional edition. The other editions, Starter and Ultimate, are dropped for Windows 8. The Ultimate editions available for Vista and 7 are heavily criticized due to the Ultimate apps they provided. Maybe Microsoft is trying to avoid more criticism and get more sales.
Windows 8 support websites have the specifications of the different editions of Windows 8 platform. Hope you enjoyed article.
